Japanese eat Mochi (rice cake) at New Years and I think many of them like it.
But especially in Ichinoseki Iwate prefecture, they eat Mochi a lot at ceremonial occasions and other events.
And there are many kinds of Mochi made in that area.
Mochi is one of their main traditional foods.
This is “Hitokuchi Mochi Zen”:one bite size Mochi table at Fujisei restaurant near Ichinoseki station.
These are the flavored with ginger, sweet bean, natto, sesame, walnut, shrimp, green soybean and wild sesame.
You eat grated daikon in between to refresh the palate.
It was so delicious and I enjoyed eating it.
