Ine no funaya

Ine is located 30 minutes from Ama no hashidate by car, in Kyoto prefecture.

The Ine no Funaya is a large cluster of traditional fishermen houses.

On the first floor is a garage for boats, and the second floor is the place to live.

It is thought that they have existed since around the middle of the Edo period.

Nowadays there are 238 houses, and the area is selected as one of the Preservation Districts for Groups of Historic Buildings.

The views of funaya houses from the sea are beautiful.

Some of these houses are used as minshuku guest houses.
