Tenryuji temple

This is Sogen Garden at Tenryuji temple in Kyoto.

Tenryuji was built in 1339, but it got burned 8 times, almost every building there now was rebuilt in the Meiji era.

The Garden was chosen first as a special historic and scenic spot in Japan.

And it was named as a World Cultural Heritage in 1994.

Tenryuji has a big dragon painted on the ceiling.

They were having a special autumn exhibit at this time.

The garden was very nice.
