Daitokuji Temple

This is Kotoin temple which is the tatchu (minor temple on the grounds of the main temple) of Daitokuji Temple, in Kyoto.

There are many tatchu there, but only four of them are open to the public.

Kotoin has a moss garden and is very beautiful.
In Daitokuji temple, you can eat syojin ryori at Izusen restaurant.

Syojin ryori is vegetarian cuisine originally derived from the dietary restrictions of Buddhist monks.

The food is served in red round bowls of the same style as a mendicant priest’s iron bowls.

After you finish eating, the dishes can be stacked into one because they are all little bit different in size.

Syojin ryori is kind to the body and so good.
