Ehomaki

At evening of Setsubun, people eat sushi roll like this.

It is called Ehomaki.

Eho means the year’s auspicious direction.

Maki means sushi roll.

When you eat this, you have to face in the year’s auspicious direction.

You dig into the whole sushi roll, without speaking and while hoping for good luck.

Ehomaki is delicious, so every year I am looking forward to it.
