Toyama

A long time ago I visited Toyama prefecture.

This is the Takaoka Buddha which is made of copper.

It is one of the three most famous big Buddhas in Japan.

The original Buddha image was burned many times, so craftsmen in Takaoka city, which is famous for copper working, cast it in copper.

It took 26 years to make starting in 1907.

And the other photo is Ninjya Hattori-kun, a popular manga character.

Fujiko Fujio A, the author of Ninjya Hattori-kun, was from Himi city in Toyama.

So you can see many characters from that anime in the city.
