Ryoanji 

This is the Rock Garden at Ryoanji temple.

It is the type of Karesansui (dry landscape), which uses mainly stones and sand to represent nature.

This size is twenty-five meters from east to west and ten meters from south to north. 

15 major stones are used.

This famous rock garden was said to be created at the end of the Muromachi era (around 1500) by highly respected Zen monks.
