This will be my last post about Mexico.
We rent a car and drove though country side.
I saw many dogs.
The hotel owner said there are many more dogs than cats, and people take care them as a community.
And I heard that according to “Yucatan time” people live at a very relaxed pace.
I really liked Yucatan.
My daughter is going to travel starting in January from Mexico.
I am jealous.
And I drank margaritas many times.
It was a little strange that a straw came with it every time.
This is panuchos and a women who is making tortillas.
One thing I really liked about Yucatan food was Sopa de lima.
It is a lime soup.
It has a light taste and is very good, though pictures aren’t good.
I ate it three times at different restaurants while I was in Yucatan.
And there are other things in Uxumal, like a convent, palaces and a ball court.
I really liked Uxumal ruins.
Tulum also has ruins.
It is next to the sea.
It was a trade place for Mayan civilization.
There were many iguanas there.
We went to Tulum after Chichen Itza: it took one and half hours by car.
Cancun is a famous resort place.
But we chose Tulum.
The hotel we stayed at is Piedra escondeda which had a private beach.
Tulum was a nice town and we enjoyed it there.
El Caracol, aka The Observatory, is found in the old part.
It is 13m high and 11m in diameter.
Mayan people knew that one year is 365 days without astronomical telescopes.
It is amazing how the kept making observations there through the years…
Temples, gravesites and other stuff were there as well.
