Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is located in Ocean Expo park.
It is a one of the popular places to visit in northern Okinawa.
There are whale sharks, which is the world’s largest fish, and Manta alfredi, which was bred successfully for the first time in the world.
And at the park, you can visit a Native Okinawan village.
I liked seeing the old houses of Okinawa.
And there are gardens, museums and more.
I enjoyed the planetarium too.
There is an aquarium in Kagoshima.
It is called Io World.
Io means fish in Kagoshima direct.
A Whale Shark is there.
At outside of the aquarium, there is a Dolphin canal and you can watch where dolphins are swimming and a mini show is free.
It was nice.
But it is closed now for maintenance work on the Dolphin canal.
I think it will open again soon.
Also there is an aquarium in Kyoto.
It opened in 2012.
It displays 15000 living things of 250 types.
This funny animal in the photo is a huge Japanese giant salamander which lives in the Kamogawa river in Kyoto.
It is really rare and special.
And another interesting thing is the African penguins.
You can see those penguins swimming from a window under the water.
I love penguins.
In Sasebo, the aquarium called Umikirara is one of the main attractions.
It is not a big aquarium.
But you can see many living things like dolphins, big turtles, rays, small sharks and horseshoe crabs, which are said to be living fossils.
But the most interesting thing there is the jelly fishes.
In the world, 1350 kinds of jelly fishes exist.
In Japan, there are 275 kinds.
And in Kujyukushima, there are 100 kinds of jelly fishes, including species first discovered there.
In the aquarium we can see many kinds of them.
I like watching jelly fishes.
